Nace en Barcelona. Vive en París desde 1965 a 1992. En los años sesenta trabaja la imagen en el mundo del Teatro, tanto en España como en París. A partir de 1969, colabora con Luís Buñuel y empieza su obra sobre el cineasta : la colección “Huellas de una mirada sobre Buñuel” (115 obras).

En 1970, realiza obras sobre Gaudí y empieza la colección de obras-retratos de grandes personajes del mundo de la Pintura, Escultura, Literatura, Poesía y Cine “Mes amis les grosses têtes” (Mis amigos los Ilustres) (75 obras).

Desde 1971 al 1972 colabora en varias películas. Desde 1973 al 1992, realiza la colección sobre el tema de la locura de nuestro mundo “Esa falsa luz del día”, Locura de este mundo (78 obras). Del 1976 al 1979, realiza diez cofres originales con el título “Antonio Gálvez y la descomposición de los mitos” (10 obras + 5 textos manuscritos de grandes escritores contemporáneos). En 1979, se incorpora en la UNESCO en París, como autor de las fotografías y asesor del Año Internacional del Niño.

En 1987, termina la colección “Los diez Mandamientos” y empieza la colección del “Erotismo con la ironía Quevedesca” (81 obras). Termina la colección “El maravilloso monstruario de París (42 obras)”.

Antonio Gálvez ha sido galardonado con diversos premios nacionales y internacionales. Ha publicado libros y ha colaborado en muchos otros. Un importante press-book refleja su trayectoria artística.

He was born in Barcelona (Spain) and lived from 1965 to 1992 in Paris. In the sixties, he works the image in the world of Theatre, both in Spain and in Paris. In 1969, he starts collaborating with Luís Buñuel and begins producing his works on the famous Spanish and universal film maker, collection entitled: Fingerprints of Antonio Galvez’s look on Buñuel (115 pictures).

In 1970, he produces works on the renowned Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi and starts his collection of portraits of prominent characters of plastic arts, literature, poetry, thought, music and cinema, entitled My friends The Brainies (Mis amigos los cabezones) (78 portraits).

From 1973 to 1992, he works out his collection entitled This false light of day, on “the lunacy of our world” (78 pictures). From 1976 to 1979, he produces ten original cases, containing each of them 10 pictures and 5 hand written texts from renowned contemporary writers, entitled Antonio Gálvez and the decomposition of myths. In 1979,  he works at the UNESCO in Paris, as author and consultant for the photographies of the International Year of the Child.

In 1987, he completes his collection named The ten commandments (5 works with 2 commandments in each of them) and starts his collection Eroticism with Quevedo’s irony (81 pictures). His works also include the collection The splendid monster gallery of Paris (52 pictures), the collection of portraits entitled a vision of Pablo Neruda (21 pictures) portraits in black and white made in 1971 and afterwards intervened with acrylic colour by the Chilean painter Víctor Ramírez, and finally the collection on The observatory of sultan Jai Singh consisting in 35 pictures rebuilt from a very deteriorated negative film of Julio Cortázar.

He has been awarded with various national and international prizes. He has published books and has contributed to many others. An important press-book witnesses his artistic route.

In 1966, after his exhibition in Paris at the Théâtre Sarah Bernhardt (currently Théâtre de la ville), he was invited by Jean VILAR in 1968 to show his works at the International Theatre Festival in Avignon (France). So far, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions among which a selection of them here.
